Oregon’s Second Highest Volcano – Mount Jefferson

by | May 16, 2016

After a mad flurry of family, graduation and corporate portrait jobs, I’m back at my desk editing my recent wildlife and nature images I shot during one of my “office escapes.” This was one shot of Mount Jefferson I thought I’d missed because five hours from home, I realized I brought the wrong tripod (I accidentally the one destined to the recycling bin, not my good one) and ended up shooting this while using a big boulder as a pseudo-monopod. Luckily it worked! Click to enlarge.

Mount Jefferson

Mount Jefferson, Oregon

Second tallest of Oregon’s stratovolcanoes, and one of the youngest (less than 100,00 years old) this remote mountain in Central Oregon is absolutely beautiful during sunset when viewed from the high desert plateau from the east!
