A Quick Trip into the Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area

A couple of days ago, I was in Western South Carolina for personal reasons and took advantage of my location while I was there to go up to the northern part of the state to do a little nature photography. Time was short, but I had a feeling that being springtime – I wouldn’t have to look too hard to find some fantastic subjects to photograph. I intended on making a run through the Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area near the North Carolina border, then continue up into the mountains. I spent the rest of my trip within a half of a mile from my first stop. It had everything I was looking for, all in one spot! I’ll be posting new photos here from the trip as I edit and process the images around all my other client work.

Mountain Bridge Wilderness

As I began to wind my way up into the mountains near Cleveland, SC I noticed the road started to follow the curves of a small canopied river. I got out and talked to a few local fishermen who were fly-fishing for trout for a while, then started to scout out the area. Then I heard the unmistakable sound of a waterfall. As a native Floridian, this is one of the most unnatural and awesome sounds one can hear in a forest. Minutes later I was standing in the water with all my gear working out the angles for the best shot possible. This is what I left with……
