The Guadalupe Mountains just East of El Paso, Texas are part of one of the finest examples of an ancient marine fossil reef on Earth. Geologists come here from around the world to marvel at this extraordinary natural phenomenon, which formed approximately 250 million years ago in the geologic period know as the Permian.
