Icicle Creek

by | Feb 25, 2022

Last winter as we were saying our goodbye to Washington State which had been our home for the past decade, we visited Icicle Creek in Washington’s Cascade Mountains, a place my family and I had hiked the previous summer and I was after one last hunt for winter landscapes in the mountains. Because we were headed permanently to South Texas, I knew it might be a while before I would see snow again. The weather fully cooperated with a heavy layer of new snow that morning from the night before.

Icicle Creek in Washington’s Cascade Mountains

Icicle Creek is one of the numerous picturesque creeks to be found in Washington’s Cascade Mountains. It flows through Wenatchee National Forest and the Alpine Lakes Wilderness and winds its way down towards Leavenworth before merging with the Wenatchee River. With fresh snowfall, it’s a hard to find a more beautiful sight!
